Makita DLX2549TJ “BL” Kit Combi & Impact Driver Kit

Description

The Makita DLX2549TJ 18V LXT Brushless Twin Kit combines the powerful DHP492 Combi Drill with the compact DTD173 Impact Driver, providing a versatile cordless solution for drilling, hammer drilling and screwdriving. Supplied with two BL1850B 5.0Ah batteries, a DC18RC charger and a Makpac Type 3 carry case, this kit is ideal for tradespeople working on installation, construction, joinery and maintenance projects.

Both tools feature brushless motors and operate on Makita’s established 18V LXT lithium-ion battery platform, allowing the supplied batteries to be shared with compatible tools across the LXT range.

DHP492 Brushless Combi Drill

The Makita DHP492 delivers up to 141Nm maximum torque, providing the power needed for demanding drilling and fastening applications. Its drilling, hammer drilling and screwdriving functions make it suitable for working in timber, steel and masonry with the appropriate accessories.

A two-speed gearbox offers a choice of lower-speed control or faster drilling, while 21 torque settings help tailor screwdriving performance to the task. The redesigned speed-change mechanism helps prevent gear disengagement, and revised controller protection enhances protection of the electronic components during variable-speed operation.

A keyless chuck makes changing bits straightforward, while the LED work light improves visibility. Electronic overload protection, battery protection and an electric brake support controlled operation.

DTD173 Brushless Impact Driver

The Makita DTD173 combines 180Nm maximum fastening torque with a compact body measuring just 111mm long, making it well suited to fastening work where access is restricted.

Its four-stage electronic impact power selection allows the output to be adjusted to suit different fasteners and materials. Variable-speed trigger control helps manage driving speed, while the quick mode-switching button and application-mode memory make it easier to move between tasks.

The balanced design and slim grip support comfortable handling. An anti-wobble bit mechanism improves bit stability, and the integrated LED work light features pre-glow, afterglow and dimming functions for visibility in darker working areas.

Makita Power Tools

For over 100 years, Makita's focus on product innovation has led to several technological advancements and the development of industry leading products. Makita's innovative vibration safety system, AVT helps users combat the risks caused by vibration in power tools and their development of dust extraction systems reduces the danger of dust inhalation. Makita have led the charge (pardon the pun) in the development of modern Lithium-Ion battery technology, enabling Makita Power Tools to run for longer, whilst reducing the weight of the tools. These, and many other, power tool developments are the result of a dedicated research and development centre in Japan, where engineers work hard to constantly improve Makita products in all aspects, from power consumption through to ergonomic design and function. Makita operates manufacturing plants across the globe, from its headquarters in Japan to here, in the UK. The Telford manufacturing facility is the only full-production factory for power tools anywhere in the UK,  and has been producing Makita cordless power tools since 1991. At the heart of the Makita manufacturing process is the quality of the motor. Makita only source the absolute highest quality raw materials and components in order to build the most powerful and efficient motors . Highest grade, premium steel is used to manufacture the armature shafts and gears, whilst high grade magnetic copper wire is used to produce the windings in each and every Makita power tool. This ensures superior current flow whilst enabling the motors to endure extreme temperatures. Makita's stringent quality control process mandates that each, and every, power tool that leaves any of Makita's manufacturing plants is rigorously tested. Nothing is left untested; the motor alone is subjected to 19 extensive tests!
